- Drugs
My life changed after I was arguing all day with my boyfriend whom had relapsed. He was using crack again. We got home that night and put the kids to bed. He asked me if I wanted to try a hit. I said “sure,” hoping he would tell me not to use and maybe think twice about his own using. That was the defining moment that changed my life and I joined the world of drug addiction.
My turning point was when I was arrested for warrants and had to serve jail time. I served my time in jail and decided while I was locked up that I needed to stay sober, attend meetings and do the next right thing.
In the end, I learned that no matter how far down a person can be we do have the capacity to get healthy, sober and happy.
Today, my life is filled with watching my children grow and being available to my family and their needs when I am most needed. I work and not only got my driver’s license back, I have now owned my car for over a year. I am also applying to college to finish a degree that I started so long ago.
