Lead Advocate Position

Ready to share your story, inspire others and help break the stigma of addiction? Here’s your chance. Connect with others on their recovery journey by joining the  Heroes in Recovery Advocate Team.

Engagement begins in January/February 2013 and continues for a period of one year. In addition to leading the conversation, Advocate duties and responsibilities include:

• Train with the FRN team twice a year
• Abide by the FRN code of ethics and confidentiality agreement
• Select volunteers based on advocate network
- Alumni network
- Individual in recovery
- Family member of person in recovery
- Outside recovery group representative
• Develop community events each quarter designed to increase awareness of Heroes in Recovery (HIR) in local markets
• Introduce/recruit other local recovery organizations to the HIR movement
• Introduce/recruit others to the HIR movement
• Assist with blog/social media content
• Celebrate a Heroes Story
• Encourage others and assist with requests for help
