Lead Advocates
Vanessa
Adventure Vanessa here and it is an honor and a blessing to be a part of the Heroes in Recovery movement! My sobriety date is March 17, 2010, and it is by the grace of my Higher Power whom I choose to call God (it’s simpler that way, HA!) that I am allowed to be here today. Diversity in spiritual progress toward perfection has been a blueprint for my divine path; it is through my experience that I am allowed to be of service to the next one suffering. HiR gives me a platform to do just that! Love and light!
Sue
Originally from the Boston area, I have lived in the Atlanta, Georgia, area for the past
30 years. I have spent my career in the dental field and am a practicing dental hygienist. My husband and I have 2 grown sons. After being introduced to the disease of addiction through the struggles of my family members, I have found a new passion: bringing awareness and understanding of this disease to the public, as well as supporting those seeking and living in recovery. This is how I hope to pay it forward.
Jordan
I feel I have been blessed to have so many people willing to help me throughout my life and my recovery. I feel it is a pleasure and my responsibility to help anyone I can in the ways I have been helped. Addiction is a disease that can destroy people’s bodies, minds, and lives, but can be overcome with a little will power, help from others and God.
Michael
My name is Michael and it is a privilege and honor to be a Lead Advocate for Heroes in Recovery. I live in Los Angeles, CA and have witnessed how untreated mental illness can lead to catastrophic problems. On a positive note, I have also seen and felt the miracles of recovery. The peace, serenity, oneness and freedom from self is priceless and will never be worth trading for any amount of money, property or prestige. It is my intention to support and be of service to anyone with the willingness and desire to recover, as well as offer any guidance and hope to friends and family.
